Lyrics:

I keep wishing you’d fly away
How can you hold yourself down?
You carry on like this every other day
You’re turning into the sound

You’ve got touchin’ on the line
But leaving is on your mind
You tell me everything is fine, just fine
On a runaway train tonight

You say, “I love you another way”
You say you’re leaving this town
You drive me up to your hideaway
As you were burning it down

You’ve got touchin’ on the line
But leaving is on your mind
You tell me everything is fine, just fine
On a runaway train tonight

You’ve got touchin’ on the line
But leaving is on your mind
You tell me everything is fine, just fine
On a runaway train tonight

I need a reason to keep away
Or get up off my back
I can’t stop it or turn away
Until I run out of track

I got touchin’ on the line
But leaving is on my mind
I’ll tell you everything is fine, just fine
On a runaway train tonight

On a runaway train tonight
On a runaway train tonight
On a runaway train tonight

We here at DWB Industries are unabashed fans of BHTM and think you should be, too. While most know Big Head for their 1993 hits, Broken Hearted Savior and Bittersweet, they are much, MUCH more than that. Pulling from rock, blues, funk, and the tiniest bits of country, BHTM is one of the best under-the-radar bands you will find. And if you live in the western mountain states, you’re likely more familiar with BHTM’s greatness given their rabid fan following and frequent tours through that part of the country.

While you’ve likely never heard Runaway Train, I am confident with a listen or two, you’ll be trotting over to iTunes to buy your very own copy. The entire Riviera album is good, but if you’re a singles kind of purchaser, also be sure to check out Resignation Superman from 1997’s Beautiful World. And because I am the helpful kind of guy I am, here’s an audio track of Resignation Superman.

No official video was made for this track, but the following high-quality audio track is definitely worth a listen:

BHTM enjoys an extremely devoted fan base, many of whom follow them from city-to-city. Here is a performance of Runaway Train at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado, in 2008 (it’s track number 8 in the compilation):
