Lyrics:

*Grunt*
Well down on the street where the faces shine
Floatin’ around I’m a real low mind
See a pretty thing – ain’t no wall
See a pretty thing – ain’t no wall

No walls!
No walls!
No walls!

Yeah, deep in the night I’m lost in love
A thousand eyes
Look at you

*Grunt*
Yeah deep in the night I’m lost in love
Yeah, deep in the night I’m lost in love
A thousand eyes
Look at you
A thousand lights
Look at you

I don’t!
I’m lost!
I’m lost!
Yeah!
Come on!
Come on, come on, come on!

*Grunt*
Come on, come on!
Yeah!
Yeah!

*Grunt*
Oooh, come on, come on, come on
Come on, come on

Where the faces shine
A real low mind
A real low mind
I’m a real low mind
A real low mind

The late 1960s and the state of Michigan brought about some truly magnificent things, including yours truly and, of course, The Stooges. The Stooges were fronted by the Godfather of Punk, James Newell Osterberg.  Never heard of him?  Oh…well, you might know him as Iggy Pop. With that being said, I have no more to add other than to Turn it up and rip the knob off!

No official video was produced for Down on the Street, but we have provided an audio file:

Also, we dug up this live version performed by Iggy and the Stooges (the band has toured under that moniker since the 2009 death of guitarist Ron Asheton):
