Lyrics to come

Jay Bennett was best known for being part of Wilco for several of the band’s most critically acclaimed records, including Being There. Bennett was a multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, piano, organ, Mellotron, banjo, bass, drums, synthesizer, and harmonica.

After an acrimonious split with Wilco, Bennett went on to release five solo albums before his untimely death in 2009 (a sixth solo album was released posthumously). Burch is a guitarist and journalist who is a founding member of The Kennett Brothers, in addition to his work with Bennett.

“Talk to Me” is a hit that never was. Take the time to listen to the multiple layers of instrumentation in this track, especially the brief banjo – yes, banjo – solo. Had this track been released by a well-known artist, it would’ve been a hit. This song is a frequent flyer here at House Kughen.
