Lyrics: It’s not in the way that you hold me
Hold the line, love isn’t always on time, oh, oh, oh It’s not in the words that you told me, girl Hold the line, love isn’t always on time, oh, oh, oh It’s not in the words that you told me Hold the line, love isn’t always on time, oh, oh, oh |
Tonight on DWB Radio, I am pining for nice weather, open car windows and sunroofs, and a kickin’ car sound system. Say what you will about Toto—and I know some of you will—this is a GREAT song. Toto has been cranking out radio-friendly rock since 1978 and even released Toto XIV in 2015. In addition to Hold the Line, Toto has scored hits with Rosanna (one of my daughter’s favorite songs), Africa, 99, I Won’t Hold You Back, I’ll Be Over You, and Pamela. Being totally honest, Toto lost me after Toto IV—its high point in terms of sales and solid material. I felt like their subsequent material was radio pandering and too ballad-heavy for my taste. However, this LA band will always hold a place in my heart with Hold the Line, one of the best tracks to come out of the late 1970s. Video: Here is the official video for Hold the Line. Pardon the seriously dorky pianist and the chunk Tom Selleck vocalist. Really, just try not to picture the band at all. The song is one of the best of the decade. And because we have plenty of low-cost electrons to spare, here is the official video for Toto’s Rosanna, which was an early favorite song for my daughter when she was a toddler: You Might Also Like:
