Lyrics:

How many times must I tell you, babe?
How many bridges have I got to cross?
How many times must I explain myself?
Before I can talk to the boss?
Before I can talk to the boss?

How many times must I tell you, babe?
How many bridges have I got to cross?
How many times must I explain myself?

[Chorus]
How many times must I say I love you
Before you finally understand?
Will not you be my forever woman?
I will try to be your forever man
Try to be your forever man
How many times must I say I love you
Before you finally understand?
Will not you be my forever woman?
I will try to be your forever man
Try to be your forever man

[Outro]
Forever man, forever man, forever man
Forever man, forever man, forever man
Try to be your forever man
Forever man, forever man, forever man
Forever man, forever man, forever man
Try to be your forever man

If you like Clapton—particularly Clapton-is-god era, screaming blues guitar Clapton—then this disc is for you. Winwood is spectacular in his own right—at the mic, on the guitar, and on keyboards. The duo plays a great selection of Clapton’s solo work, as well as stuff from Derek & The Dominos, Blind Faith, and Traffic. They also hit a few requisite blues numbers from other artists, including Jimi Hendrix’s Voodoo Chile, Buddy Miles’s Them Changes, and Robert Johnson’s Rambling on My Mind. Their rendition of Cocaine (written by JJ Cale) is worth the price of the disc alone.

The double-CD set is pure gold from open to finish, and the DVD (which includes extra tracks) is a must-have for any blues-rock fan.

Enjoy one of the best performances you’ll ever hear from Uncle Eric. Groovy, dudes…
