Lyrics: I’ve had nothing but bad luck She’s just a devil woman
Give me the ring on your finger She’s just a devil woman If you’re out on a moonlit night She’s just a devil woman She’s just a devil woman She’s just a devil woman Get It: Pick up your copy of I’m Nearly Famous here: |
This song makes me think of snowy mornings when we’d listen to the radio for school closings. I remember being glued to the tiny mono radio in the kitchen in my mom’s house and beseeching the DJ to announce that school was closed. We here at Radio DWB dig 70s music, and Cliff Richard is a frequent flyer here. Devil Woman peaked at number 6 on the Billboard charts in 1976. Richard scored several hits in the U.S., including We Don’t Talk Anymore, in 1979, Dreamin’ in 1980, and Suddenly, a duet with Olivia Newton-John in 1980. Richard had some other minor U.S. hits, but he was an absolute musical phenom in the UK, where he is the third best-selling artist in history, trailing only the Beatles and Elvis Presley. The Brits love him so much, he has won three Brit Awards (the UK equivalent to a Grammy) and was knighted in 1995. He has charted 14 number one singles in the UK over the course of a 50-year career in music. Enjoy, my babies. The song appears on 1980’s Rock n’ Roll Juvenile: Lastly, here is Dreamin’, which unlike many of Richard’s hit abroad, made the U.S. charts and is found on I’m No Hero (1980) You Might Also Like: |
