Lyrics: You play your stereo loud It’s ‘Who Do You Love’ I’m out in the street You’ve come a long way, baby And would it be alright Out in the street And maybe later on You know I’m not the kind of man I’m out in the street It’s the night time, baby |
Indie rock/folk aficionados will be familiar with mainstay Josh Rouse who has delivered one solid record after another since 1998, when he delivered one of my favorite indie albums ever, Dressed Up Like Nebraska. “It’s the Nighttime” is a perfect—and I mean perfect—blend of folk, rock, and country that will not fail to get your fingers tapping on the wheel. Rouse, a native of Nebraska, went to Nashville to cut this album. There, he soaked up the sounds of the city, blending pedal steel guitars with his folky rock stylings. This song has become a favorite here at the Kughen Home for the Mentally Divergent—both with the staff and clients—and I am sure it will be at yours, too. Video: |
